Ultraviolet Stained Glass was established in 2017 in Bisbee, Arizona, by principal artist and crafts person, Nicole Hansen. In 2024 Nicole returned to her hometown of Portland, bringing her specialized practice back to the Pacific Northwest. While she represents a fresh perspective in the local glass community, her work is informed by a deep-rooted understanding of the city’s architectural history and unique aesthetic. Nicole collaborates closely with every client to produce original, site-specific designs that honor the integrity of both private residences and public spaces.

In 2024, she received the American Glass Guild James A. Whitney Scholarship, which she used to study with world renowned stained glass artist Debora Coombs. She also studied traditional stained glass painting privately with Sophie D’Souza at her studio in London.

She originated and hosts a monthly meetup for Portland stained glass professionals. Nicole is actively building a community of mentors, peers, and students dedicated to advancing the art and craft of stained glass in the 21st century.
